It is not true that you have to go out of town to get your Kentucky driver’s license renewed, especially if you are disabled and have difficulty driving long distances. There are a few ways to renew your driver’s license without having to leave your town:
Renew online. If you are eligible to renew your driver’s license online, you can do so from the comfort of your own home. To renew online, you will need to create an account on the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet website. Once you have created an account, you will be able to log in and renew your license.
Renew by mail. You can also renew your driver’s license by mail. To renew by mail, you will need to print out and complete a driver’s license renewal application. You can download the application from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet website. Once you have completed the application, you will need to mail it back to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Renew in person at a driver’s licensing office. If you are unable to renew your driver’s license online or by mail, you can renew it in person at a driver’s licensing office. However, please note that some driver’s licensing offices may require appointments. You can schedule an appointment online or by calling the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
If you are disabled, you may be able to receive special accommodations when renewing your driver’s license. For example, you may be able to skip the line at a driver’s licensing office or receive assistance from a staff member.
